Gruet Uptown

Conceived as an Uptown offering for the Gruet tasting room destinations, this third in the cadre of opportunities to experience the Gruet wine-making history, process and results aimed to set itself apart.

Located in a more urban environment than the winery’s original namesake location or the quaint historic Santa Fe spot, this tasting room was to offer a deeper connection to the Gruet legacy, and an architecture of wine, a history of wine-making, and the threads that wine offers from old world to the new.

With vibrantly social to semi-private to private and voyeuristic options for communing with oneself or others, indoor or out, this tasting room was designed to elicit jaws dropped, wide eyes, and a desire to linger enjoying fine wine and finding transcendence.

A nod to Gaudi, Nouveau influence and the New Mexican culture of primitism, tactility and form, the materiality of each beguiling element romancing the other sets the scene for intrigue and beckoning. Old world troweled, pure white textural walls, perforated patterned steel, terra cotta and burned, reclaimed wood create a hygge of alchemy when paired with the wine result in a recipe for one’s return again and again.
